Something’s Happening. Read below to get all the details
I WANT ALL THE DETAILS!
We have them. Check out this PDF of instructions our volunteers have for the full details of how bag handouts and pickups work.
WHAT FOOD IS ACCEPTABLE?
We’re looking for non-perishable food items. The primary recipient of donations (Open Door Mission) is currently short on canned meats, peanut butter, boxed meals, cereal, canned fruit, and soups.
What if I can’t fill the bag?
Don’t sweat it! Whether you put one food item in the bag or fill it to the top, it’s going to make a difference and help feed those in need in our community.
I FILLED THE BAG, NOW WHAT?
This part is easy! Simply set your bag out on the date marked on the bag. In most cases, this will be March 17. If your bag doesn’t have a date marked, go ahead and set it out on March 17. You can also drop it off at King of Kings Church on any date.
I DIDN’T GET A BAG, CAN I STILL JOIN?
You’re welcome to pick up free bags from King of Kings Church between now and March 20. Alternatively, you can use your own paper or plastic grocery bags.
WHO GETS THE FOOD?
Food items collected will primarily go to the Open Door Mission. We will also be providing items to the Rejoice Lutheran Church Food Bank.
WHAT IF MY BAG DIDN’T GET PICKED UP?
Oops! That’s embarrassing. We’re really sorry about that! Please give us a call at 402-333-6464 and we’ll sort out a way to get your bag.
WHAT’S YOUR GOAL?
25K bags. That’s right! 25,000 bags filled with food. Something’s Happening when together we help feed those in need with all that food!
